5 Most Expensive Places To Buy Property In Lincolnshire

Generally speaking properties in Lincolnshire in the UK are cheap compared to many other parts of the country. In terms of housing and population, it is now the second fastest growing county with the intention following government funding of creating 12,000 new jobs and 14,000 new homes in the area by 2026.

The county is in the East Midlands with a long coastline along the North Sea. It has a population of 1,087,659 and its county town is Lincoln.

Although properties in Lincolnshire can be considered cheaper than elsewhere, there can be large disparities in prices within the county. In this article we will look at the most expensive areas in Lincolnshire to buy a three bedroom house.

Crowland

The fifth most expensive place to buy property in Lincolnshire is Crowland, where a home with 3 bedrooms will cost £200,000, although sometimes bargains do come up for much less.

This medieval town which appears in the Domesday Book contains the ruins of Crowland Abbey and the three sided Trinity Bridge.

Crowland is small with a population of 4,211 (in 2011) and has one primary school but no secondary school. It is not far though from the larger towns of Spalding and Peterborough.

 Woodhall Spa

Coming in second of our most expensive areas in Lincolnshire is Woodhall Spa, where a house with three bedrooms will cost on average £240,000.

This town was established in Victorian times, which sets it apart from many of the older historic  settlements in Lincolnshire. Originally in the area, businessmen were looking for coal. Instead they found water which flooded the mine shafts, bringing an end to the coal searching. But the water was tested and it was found to have beneficial mineral qualities. Therefore wells and then spa hotels were built leading to this new Victorian town.

Much of the centre of Woodhall Spa has been designated a conservation area.

Tattershall

Number one of most expensive areas goes to the attractive village of Tattershall, where a property with 3 bedrooms will cost on average £260,000.

This village is located in East Lindsey and has a population of 2,834 (in 2011). It has the remains of a castle built in 1434, with the Grand Tower still standing.
