Importance Of Mathematics In Real Life

Importance Of Mathematics In Real Life

The number of planets we have in the solar system, number of countries in the world, number of states in our country, number of cities in our states, etc., are defined by the most basic concept of Mathematics, which is nothing but counting numbers. In the same way, there are numerous concepts in Maths, that have many applications in real life.

Maths In Real Life

Mathematics helps us to do fundamental calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. These computations are widely used in our daily life. For example, to maintain the budget for the home, to calculate money saved or spent while purchasing groceries, to distribute two chocolates each among students in a class, etc., there are many such situations where we use basic arithmetic operations.

Learning Maths is not only helpful to do calculations but also helps to improve our brain health. Maths helps us to boost our thinking skills and to perform better. Practicing Maths puzzles increases the capabilities of solving the problems in a quick manner.

Maths also plays an important role in cooking or baking. To prepare a cake, we have to take the proper ratio of all ingredients such as flour, sugar, butter, milk, etc. If the proportion is not accurate then the dish is not prepared accurately. Also, there are many vessels or containers that have measurements mentioned in it. Using these containers we can easily measure the quantity of food products to be used while cooking.

Maths For Kids

Kids are taught to tell the time in the clock by Maths applications. As we know, we have 24 hours in a day. Each hour has 60 minutes and each minute has 60 seconds. The hands of the clock indicate each hour, each minute and each second, with their pointed heads.

In mathematics, we have learned numbers in various forms, such as natural numbers, whole numbers, real numbers, etc. But in real life, when we deal with numbers we usually consider counting numbers. For example, in bank cheques, the amount is written in numbers as well as in words. Therefore, it is necessary to learn how to spell a number or how to write numbers into words, such as;

121-One hundred and twenty-one

300-Three hundred

Maths In Other Fields

Mathematics is used in the field of other subjects also such as Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Medicine, etc. In chemistry labs, we use beakers that have measurements marked in them to measure the chemical solutions. In Physics, we use measuring tapes or scales to find the length of devices.

In civil engineering, for the construction of buildings, houses, bridges, etc., we prepare blueprints and sketches using measuring scales. The proportion of cement, sand and water to be used is also defined by the ratio and proportion concept.

Many great scientists and engineers use mathematical logic to work on various aspects of work such as hypothesis tests. Not only for them, even the small workers who work for factories collecting and analyzing samples of products, use mathematical computations.

Apart from these, Mathematics has huge applications in everyday life, therefore it has become an important part of our lives.
